Inspired by the isolated landscape at the foot of Clachnaben. This 16" square oil paitning, depicts the sweeping heather moorland of the forrest of Birse and Glendye in Aberdeenshire. A granite stone shelter is nestled in the landscape, with a charming weather-beaten corrugated roof.
I enjoyed finding a diverse colour palette in the scene with the warm afternoon light, and captured a reference photo, whilst on a hike with friends in early springtime.
